Roku

  1. For full control: Settings › System › Advanced system settings › Control by mobile apps › Network access › Enabled (older Rokus: Default or Permissive).
  2. Roku TVs: Settings › System › Power › turn on Fast TV start so Power can turn the TV on.
  3. Open Remote Papi on the same Wi-Fi and pick your Roku.

Do I need a Roku account in the app?

No. Remote Papi talks to your Roku directly over your home Wi-Fi, with no sign-in.

Only the volume works

Your Roku limits phone apps. Set Settings › System › Advanced system settings › Control by mobile apps › Network access to Enabled.

Can it turn my TV on?

Roku TVs, yes, with Fast TV start on. Roku sticks and boxes control the TV's power over HDMI, so Power works if your TV supports HDMI-CEC.

Is it free?

Yes, the full remote and the remote beep are free. Remote Papi Pro is an optional one-time $1.99.
